OVAL, SNO-CROSS & VINTAGE
Race Number’s! This is very important. It will be done on a first come first serve basis. When you enter on line you will type in your number. If it takes the number you are in. If it kick’s you back you will have to add a letter or change your number and try again. This is the only way that we can keep Bib numbers from all the different organizations from having the same number on the track. Remember if you down load the PDF files and Fax or send them in we will enter your number and if it is taken we will have to assign a new number for you! (So it is in your best interest to enter on line.) Each class will have its own numbers.
Use our online entry page to enter all races. Oval, Sno-Cross and Vintage, www.derbytrack.com We do have PDF forms that you can down load and fill out and return to the Derby office. All oval and sno-cross entries must be received and paid by Wednesday, January 9th by 5:00 pm. All vintage entries must be received and paid by Wednesday, January 2nd by 5:00 pm.
All late entries will be charged an additional $50.00 per driver. There will be no exception to this rule. Please read the 2008 schedule and make your plans accordingly. We want everyone to be able to race so make sure you get your entries in on time. Don’t forget to enter any classes that you are eligible for. Friday night will be completely separate classes with qualifying specifically for Friday night (with separate pay outs and awards).
When sending in entries, do not send to your organization. If sending in entries make checks payable to: Eagle River Derby Track. No entry will be considered if it is not fully completed with all information and paid for in full by deadline. No entry willbe accepted without Social Security number. (Engine and chassis numbers can be supplied at check in.)
Each registered driver will receive a pit pass for himself and one for a crew person (excluding Kitty Kat and 120's). Additional pit passes can be purchased in registration for $55.00 each. Pit passes are valid for gate admission to the spectator area. You must be 14 years of age or older to be in the pits. All minors must have a signed release on file in the registration office. If you are a junior rider or 120/300/Kitty Kat racer under the age of 14, you must have your parent or guardian with you at all times.
Pit passes will ONLY be issued from the Derby Registration Office. The pit passes are numbered and coded to the authorizing driver. If a pit pass is found that has been cut or otherwise tampered with, it will be confiscated, and the driver, under whose name the pass was issued, will be disqualified from further racing. We do not like to be this rigid, but the consequences to our ability to buy insurance depend on the strict enforcement of having signed waivers, in our records. ATV and pit bikes! Do not cross Highway 45 to the west and stay off Pleasure Island Road across from the school. You will get a ticket. All ATV and pit bikes must be removed from paddock immediately after dropping off race equipment.
USSA and The American Snowmobile Competition are co-sanctioning organizations at the 2007 Derby. All OSRF, SCM, USSA, WSA Pro-Ice, Eastern Pro Tour, MIRA and any other ISR recognized organization memberships will also be honored at the Derby.
NEW for the 2008 Top Ten Ring Presentation
(This is a mandatory presentation if you make the top ten)
The Top Ten Ring Presentation will be moved from the Derby Hot Seats Saturday evening, January 19th, to an Open House at the new Wild Eagle Lodge, just north of the Derby Track. Focus of the evening will be a tribute to Sgt. Tyler Joseph Kritz and an acknowledgement of the sacrifice of this young man, one of Eagle River’s own. Sgt. Kritz, an Eagle River native, lost his life June 3, 2007 on his second tour of duty in Iraq. This will be about a one hour program in which the top ten qualifiers are introduced, say a few words and receive their Top Ten ring. This ceremony has been a well attended part of the champion’s race weekend. Ted Otto, the legendary U.S.S.A. flagman will be on hand to conduct this Derby ritual with help from Bobby Unser. Special note: Ted Otto has announced his retirement. The Derby will be the last snowmobile race that Ted will flag. Fans can take advantage of this final chance to see and talk with Ted.
A donation toward the establishing of a memorial for Sgt. Kritz would be appreciated at the door. Amsoil is providing a buffet of “heavy” hors d’oeuvres for all who attend.
